Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
The short version.
- You can cancel at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the month you've paid for, and then stops.
- Fees already charged, whether base fees or usage, aren't refunded. Mistakes on our side always are.
- Coho is an online service, so there is nothing to ship or return.
- If a charge looks wrong, email us before disputing it with your bank. It's usually faster.
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. Prices and what each plan includes are on the Pricing and contact page.
1. How billing works
- Free. No card is needed and nothing is ever charged. Free limits are fixed: when a project reaches one, the action that would exceed it stops.
- Site. Billed monthly for each project, in US dollars, through our payment processor Stripe. Each invoice charges the base fee for the month ahead and any usage beyond your allowances in the month just ended. Moving a project from Free to Site starts its first paid month that day.
- Enterprise. Billed as your order form sets out.
- Alerts. We email your account's admins when a project reaches 80% and 100% of each allowance, so that usage charges never come as a surprise.
2. Canceling
- How. Cancel a project's plan in Coho's billing settings, or email support@coho-cms.com from an admin's address. We confirm every cancellation by email.
- When it takes effect. At the end of the current billing period. Until then everything keeps working. There are no further base fees, and usage up to the end of the period is billed on one final invoice.
- What happens next. When the period ends, the project closes: editing stops and its published content is no longer delivered. We keep its content for 30 days, so that you can export it or resubscribe, and then we delete it.
- Closing your account. Email us from an admin's address. It works the same way: paid plans run to the end of their period, then the account closes and its content is deleted 30 days later.
- Free projects can be deleted at any time.
3. Refunds
Fees are non-refundable. We don't refund base fees for part of a month, allowances you didn't use, or usage that has already happened.
We always refund:
- duplicate charges;
- charges made after a cancellation took effect;
- amounts billed because of a mistake on our side, such as a metering fault; and
- fees paid for any period after we stop offering the Services, as the Terms describe.
To ask for a refund, email support@coho-cms.com within 60 days of the charge, with the invoice number. Refunds go back to the original payment method, and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days. We may sometimes give a credit or refund in other circumstances. Doing so once doesn't commit us to doing it again.
Enterprise refunds and service credits are as your order form describes.
4. Failed payments
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it over the following days, and we email your account's admins.
- If an invoice is still unpaid 14 days after it was due, we may suspend editing for the account. Your published content keeps being delivered.
- If it is still unpaid 30 days after the suspension began, we may close the account. Its content is then kept for 30 days and deleted.
- Paying the overdue balance before the account closes lifts the suspension straight away.
5. Disputed charges and chargebacks
- If a charge looks wrong, email support@coho-cms.com with the invoice number. We reply within two business days, and if we made a mistake, we refund it.
- Please talk to us before disputing a charge with your bank or card issuer. A dispute takes weeks to resolve, and a refund from us is usually faster.
- If a charge is disputed, we send the card issuer our records of it: the plan, the usage measured and the invoice. While a dispute is open, we may suspend editing for the account. Published content keeps being delivered.
